At West Park Bilingual Academy, students receive a well-rounded, bilingual education designed to support their growth in every subject. Teachers ensure every child’s success through on grade level whole group instruction, high impact small group instruction as well as individualized learning plans. Our daily Spanish immersion program is integrated into every student’s day, supporting both language development and global awareness. Enrichment offerings like art, physical education, and robotics (for middle schoolers) expand opportunities for creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking in and beyond the classroom.

Core Subjects & Electives
Our curriculum is built on the Ohio Learning Standards (OLS) for English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, The Arts, and Physical Education.
English Language Arts
Our English Language Arts program builds strong reading, writing, and communication skills at every grade level. Students benefit from individualized learning plans tailored to their current performance, ensuring the right balance of support and challenge. Through engaging texts, purposeful writing, and small group learning, students grow into confident readers, writers, and thinkers in both English and Spanish.
Math
Math instruction emphasizes both foundational skills and real-world problem solving. With individualized support and small group instruction, students gain confidence as they move from concrete operations to abstract reasoning. Lessons build critical thinking and prepare students for more advanced mathematical learning over time.
Science
Science is hands-on and exploratory, encouraging students to ask questions and discover how the world works. From life science to Earth and physical sciences, students build skills in observation, analysis, and investigation. Middle school students also participate in Robotics, using technology and engineering to deepen their STEM learning through real-world applications.
Spanish
All students receive daily Spanish language instruction that supports bilingual communication, cultural understanding, and cognitive growth. Taught by bilingual educators, lessons combine structured instruction with interactive activities that encourage students to speak, listen, read, and write with confidence. Additional support is available for students who need help mastering English as a second language.
Art
Students engage with the arts through hands-on experiences that spark creativity, develop talents, and foster self-expression. At West Park Bilingual Academy, we celebrate the arts as a vital part of a well-rounded education that boosts academic achievement and nurtures social-emotional growth.
Physical Education
Our Physical Education program encourages students to stay active, build coordination, and practice teamwork. Through games and structured activities, students develop perseverance, sportsmanship, and healthy habits that support focus and emotional well-being throughout the day.

Our school is built on a strong foundation of high expectations for academic achievement for all students. Our instructional model has four key components to achieve strong academic results:
Individualized Instruction
Students participate in a variety of learning activities each day that individualize instruction for each subject area. Students receive whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction with teachers, technology and other curricular tools.
Properly Certified & Licensed Teachers
Our teachers meet the educator qualification requirements outlined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): Bachelor’s degree, grade-level teaching license/certificate & ability to demonstrate subject area expertise. Our teachers are supported by trainers and participate in continuous, research-based professional development. Our teachers are accountable for student learning and rewarded for high quality performance.
More Time on Task
Our students receive double the instruction in ELA and Math to provide a strong foundation for all learning. Beginning with full-day Kindergarten, our school also follows a longer school day and school year than many other schools.
Short Cycle Assessments
Student knowledge of academic standards is assessed formally and informally in short cycles by each teacher. Our teachers adjust class-level and individual instruction based on student performance in these frequent intervals.

Social Studies
Our Social Studies curriculum helps students understand people, cultures, and events that shape the world around them. Lessons emphasize geography, civics, and history, encouraging students to think critically, appreciate diversity, and build a strong sense of community and identity.
