West Park Bilingual Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The school offers daily bilingual instruction, building language skills alongside core academics every single day.
Instruction is tailored to each student, and the school’s bilingual model is not a once-a-week enrichment class. It’s part of daily learning across all grades. Students develop critical thinking, reading comprehension, and communication skills in two languages simultaneously, giving them an advantage most K-8 students in Cleveland don’t have.
Social-emotional learning is incorporated into daily activities, with on-site counseling available through the HWS Best Health Counseling. Students receive support that goes beyond academics; the building is a place where a child can exhale, be known, and do his or her work.
School hours run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Beforecare is available from 6:30-7:30 and Aftercare is available from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. After-school tutoring is offered for students who need additional academic support.
Student activities include girls and boys basketball, volleyball, cheer, and an Arts club. Students participate in two to three field trips per year, with destinations that connect learning to real life: the Cleveland Zoo, Mapleside Farms, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of Art, and high school visits for 8th graders preparing for their next step.
Support services include on-site counseling through HWS Best Health Counseling, after-school tutoring, beforecare, aftercare, free breakfast and lunch delivered daily for every student, and after-school meals provided through a partnership with the Cleveland Food Bank. Yellow bus transportation is available through CMSD for students in grades K-8 who live within 1 to 3 miles of campus.
Kindergarten enrollment is open to students who turn 5 by December 31, with early entrance available for those who qualify.
There is no tuition, no application fee, and no cost to families.

I am honored to serve as the Principal of West Park Bilingual Academy. I believe every student deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where they are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
My journey in education has been driven by a passion for helping students succeed and empowering teachers to provide meaningful learning experiences. Throughout my career, I have served in roles such as teach, coach, Director of Academics, and each experience has strengthened my commitment to student achievement, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
As principal, I value building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the community. I believe that open communication, mutual respect, and teamwork is the foundation of a successful school. My goal is to create a school culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and inspired to do their best each day.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, playing volleyball, and spending time with my family and friends. I am excited for my new role at West Park Bilingual Academy and look forward to partnering with our families to help every student reach their full potential.

Ashley Miles, Regional Vice President
Ashley Miles served as Principal of Akron Preparatory School in 2019 – 2024 with over 15 years of experience working as an educator and school administrator. Prior to joining ACCEL Schools in 2017 as Dean of Students at Canton College Preparatory School, Ms. Miles worked for ICAN Schools in Northeast Ohio and at the Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy. A strong believer in education, Ms. Miles has earned multiple graduate degrees. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Miami University, a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, and a Master’s degree in Education emphasizing Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University in San Diego. At the core of Ms. Miles’ award-winning school leadership work is building school culture, working tirelessly from her personal mantra “I can do all things through Christ” and other inspirations such as Michelle Obama, “When they go low, you go high.”
