Enter the captivating world of dance with West Park Academy’s thriving dance program!
This program was created to encourage students to express themselves through physical dance movements.
It is intended to instill in students seeds of expression, strong principles, and morals, allowing them to express themselves effectively.
When our principal, Mr. Stokes came to West Park a year ago he felt it was important to bring some changes to the school. Among other things, creating spaces where our students can express themselves and move freely were some of those changes. In the last year we have had some amazing additions to our campus that have allowed our scholars to do exactly that! We recently renovated our gym, and it has allowed for so many more opportunities for our students. We now have a space that allows them to be able to participate in several different extracurriculars such as dance, basketball, volleyball, cheer, and more. We also have upgraded our playground for our younger students to be able to have fun and engage with each other!
The Local Wellness Policy is a written document that guides a local educational agency’s (LEA) or school district’s efforts to establish a school environment that promotes students’ health, well-being, and ability to learn. The Wellness Policy Committee has been created as an effort to manage and develop our school’s healthy habits.
» A Wellness Committee will be appointed to each school
» The committee may include parents and guardians, students, representatives of the school nutrition program, physical education teachers, or any other interested stakeholder that is aligned with the goals of the policy
» The committee shall meet a minimum of four times per year
This is a great opportunity to help promote and support student health and wellness, and create a positive, safe, and health-promoting learning environment. Please contact mealcounts@accelschools.com for more information.

A West Park Academy custodian didn’t let his title stop him from creating ways to help students at his school. He realized kids at the school needed an outlet to help them thrive, so he created a dance program that has been so successful, he’s now looking to expand it to more schools.
